Emirate of Dubai

Dubai is located along the Arabian Gulf with a coast of about 72 km. the Emirate of Dubai covers an area of 3885 square kilometers, equivalent to 5% of the area of the UAE without the islands. The population of Dubai is nearly 1.4 million people.

Despite the rapid economic development that Dubai witnessed over the past few years, it remained tied to its heritage, and became known as a global community in the pattern of the co-existing in a recognizable way of life to all, while at the same time the culture is deeply rooted to the Islamic traditions of Arabia.

Dubai City is the capital of the Emirate of Dubai, the Emirate is divided, by Dubai Creek, into two parts. Bur Dubai is the southern part, where the Ruler’s Court is. It is the center of the official activities, and most of the companies and banks main offices and customs as well as Port Rashid are in Bur Dubai.

The northern part of Dubai is called "Deira," the center of business and tourism; it includes shops, markets, schools, hotels, clubs, and Dubai International Airport.

The Jebel Ali area is considered one of the most important industrial and commercial areas in the UAE, with the largest free zone in the Gulf area, it has also the Dry Dock, the port of Jebel Ali, and Dubai Aluminum factory. The most important tourism areas in the Dubai are Hatta, Aweer and Khawaneej.

Dubai has a gorgeous man-made island in the form of palm tree, and a number of luxurious hotels that cater to the needs of visitors, tourists and business people. Burj Al-Arab which is one of the unique hotels in the world is located next to the island, as well as Burj Khalifa (Khalifa Tower) the largest and tallest building in the world.

In addition to the traditional markets, there are many modern shopping malls, which are distributed throughout the city, where all the famous brands can be found at reasonable prices. The Dubai Shopping Festival which is held annually has become internationally recognized, where people gather from all over the world to take advantage of the competitive prices, draws, shows, and promotions.
